On Sunday, September 8, I will jump into the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Amsterdam canals.

Not to admire the underwater scenery with its abundance of multicoloured aquatic life. 

But rather to swim for 2 km, whilst being cheered on - or in my case possibly mocked at :-) - by thousands of spectators.

Me and many others are doing this to raise much needed money for research on ALS, a devastating disease that a good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with.

Every penny raised will be directed at this research. So if you could chip in, those affected, patients and their relatives, will be very grateful.
